Talk outside the box: Moonjar’s “Conversations To Go”

Little package, a lot of punch! Moonjar's Chinese takeout-style Conversations To Go contain conversation starters that will keep your family (or friends) talking for hours. One hundred questions stimulate laughs and thoughtful replies. You can pick from boxes that focus on money, travel or a just general conversation starters.

We pulled this game out over a holiday with Jeremiah's family and had a great time talking and learning about each other. Z, at 4.5 years old is not yet quite old enough to completely engage with all of the questions but for older kids (especially tweens and teens) these cards can be an easy way to approach difficult topics. Who knows? You may be surprised what your children think about money, heroes, jobs and what makes them happy.

These might be scary times to our children in many ways. Children might not know what questions to ask about our economy, safety or a host of other topics. You might not know how to best stimulate conversation. Engaging children with this game is a fun and intelligent way to begin those discussions. The questions are written plainly, but with plenty of thought - some of them will be quick, easy answers and some of them will require more thought or explanation. Children will be able to both understand what the question is and be able to formulate an answer.

Here are some sample questions:

"When is the last time you forgave yourself?"
"Would you rather travel to a new place or return to an old favorite?"
"Name the most important job in the world. What is it worth?"

These topics are appropriate for children from 6 and up. Suggested venues include family game night, dinner table discussions, and any setting that gathers a group of varying ages together. I'd particularly recommend this game for discussions at camps, scout meetings, and any place that has an adult monitor to help focus the discussion and answer related questions.

Enjoy getting to know each other better!
