An alternative to recycling your own crayons

An alternative to recycling your own crayons

We recently posted about recycling your crayons by melting them down and pouring them into muffin tins or candy molds. But what if you have way too many crayons to recycle?

Our house, for example, is a crayon magnet. Z brings them home from restaurants and they come in gift cups from daycare; they are at the bottom of my purse and we have a storage container full of them in our home. If you aren't motivated to melt them down and remold them yourself or if you just have too many crayons to recycle and not enough time, send them off to Crazy Crayons. Crazy Crayons recycles your used crayons so you don't have to throw them in the trash. They turn them into molded crayons and they use some of the wax and the crayon paper to make fire starters.

Start a box in your house and the next time you feel like tossing a crayon out (restaurants typically throw out their crayons, too so pick them up from the table before you leave), seal it up and send it to Crazy Crayons instead!
